Whether you have a puppy or a senior dog, it is paramount that you keep an eye on the many health issues which can cause major problems.
Puppies are especially prone to certain diseases and illnesses as a result of their infant immune system. Monitor your puppy’s behavior, bowel movements, and overall demeanor, and report any irregularities to your veterinarian.
Other common health problems in dogs of all ages include cancer, allergies, and heartworm disease. There are steps you can take to lessen the likelihood that your dog will come down with any of these issues, and it is important to know the symptoms so that you can get your dog checked out immediately.
In addition to avoiding the many household poisons which can be detrimental to a dog's health, keep your dog on monthly heartworm preventative, give him regular exercise and proper nutrition, and the chances are you will have many wonderful years with your beloved pet.
