Rachel Sheppard
Rachel Sheppard is the author and founder of My Kid Has Paws. She is a Social Media Manager, blogger, animal lover, volunteer, graduate student, and shoe collector.
After graduating from the University of California, Davis with a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science & Management, she worked as a Veterinary Assistant for 3 years. Her daily interactions with pet parents inspired her to start her blog focused on pet health, pet rescue, and pet products. She has a true enthusiasm for veterinary medicine and animal science, and enjoys sharing her knowledge and experiences with pet parents on a regular basis.
Rachel and her husband have been blessed with a Corgi named Rooney. They all live, run, and play in the San Francisco Bay Area. Rooney was adopted from a local Pembroke Corgi Rescue in February 2012. Since then, not a day has gone by where he doesn’t bring her lots of joy and smiles.
Rachel uses her social media and marketing skills to assist local organizations. Currently, she is the Publicity Chair for Canine Companions for Independence DogFest fundraiser, and a Social Media volunteer for Valley Humane Society’s annual fundraiser.
Rachel is currently pursing an MBA focused in Entrepreneurship from Santa Clara University. She hopes to use her business education and blogging experience to fulfill the needs of pet parents through new product innovation.
When Rachel isn’t blogging, volunteering, or finishing graduate school, you can find her walking Rooney, running trails, or shopping for shoes.
