Donna Elliott
Donna Elliott is the owner of Mutts With Manners in Atlanta, Ga. Donna is a certified dog trainer through the Association of Professional Dog Trainers. She is a Victoria Stilwell Positively Dog Trainer and a member of the Pet Professional Guild. Donna began her training career in 2004 by going through a week of intensive training with Pat Miller at her farm in Maryland. This week was spent training a shelter dog and studying behavioral science. After completing Pat’s course Donna apprenticed for a year with a positive reinforcement trainer in Atlanta, Ga. Since then she continually seeks out courses that challenge her and keep her up to date on the latest training and behavior modification techniques.
Donna has a passion for the outdoors and takes her 1 year old Border Collie with her where ever she goes. That is where the “manners” part of her training comes in. Her goal when working with owners is to train their dogs to be well socialized and live as part of the family. A loved family pet should not be isolated in the back yard because of their bad behavior and left to entertain themselves. Her tag line is “give your dog a job or he will become self-employed”!
Training is all about communication and engagement with your dog. She believes strongly that learning should be fun for the owner and their dog.
Donna is currently working on teaching her Border Collie Sunny the skills needed for Rally and Competitive Obedience.
