TIME.com has reported that an alarming trend known as "Pet Flipping" is becoming more and more common, presumably because the internet has created much easier access to buying and selling animals. Criminals get hold of a pet in various ways, from pretending to be a found dog's owner to stealing the pet outright.

The best way you can protect your pet from being part of a flipping scheme is to spay/neuter and implant a microchip so that the animal can be tracked back to you.

Many people have microchips in their pets, but then they forget to register the chip. PLEASE, PLEASE update your pet's microchip information with the chip manufacturer. The registry is the only way to match the chip to the pet owner.

    Thanks!!

I have a high-energy vizsla, and i was wondering if it was safe,
if she is supervised.... . . This would only be used in the winter, or when it wasn't nice outside, so it is NOT a way of getting out of playing with her, or anything like that. Any site links would also be very helpful.. . All I can find online about this is new dog treadmills, but I don't want to spring for one of those.
.. because it seems that they are expensive and heavy..
    . Thank You!.

Victoria, I read that microchipping can sometimes affect the dog's temperament or health.. I've read horror stories.. Is this true?
