Oliver is Looking for a Home

Oliver is looking for a home.

Oliver is looking for a home.

Some very kind people saved little Oliver from a kill shelter outside Atlanta, Georgia. They have nursed him back to health and he is now searching for a rescue group to take him in or for a forever home. Here's what his rescuers have to say about him:

"Poor Oliver was sitting in a rural Georgia shelter, cowering in the corner wondering what in the world he had done to deserve this.  We saw his picture and could not let him spend his last days in such a state.  On Veterans day, we rescued him from a certain fate of euthanasia and named him Oliver, or "Ollie" for short.image001

When we saw Oliver in person, we realized what a hard life he must have led up until now.  It is evident that he has been kept outside and most likely thrown scraps in the yard to eat.  He weighs about 17 lbs, but should weigh around 25 lbs.  Oliver is definitely a diamond in the rough with his adorable underbite and scruffy coat.  We feel certain with a tummy full of nutritious food that will nurture his body and his coat, a warm bed to sleep in at night and a lot of love, he is going to blossom into an even more handsome boy.  Oliver's temperament is sweet, mellow and easy going.   And now that he is out of that scary place, his tail wags all day long.  At night and during the day when I am gone, Oliver sleeps quietly in his crate.  He walks well on a leash, loves car rides and has wonderful house image005manners.  He is great with men, women, children, dogs - everyone he meets.   And he is never demanding at all but always appreciative of a pat on the head or a scratch behind the ears.

Oliver is approximately 4 or 5 years old, 17 lbs, appears to be housebroken, crate trained, walks on a leash, heartworm negative, has all shots including rabies and has been neutered.  He is available for adoption or rescue.  We know there is the perfect person somewhere out there who will give him the love and care he deserves."
