Heated Bowls?
I was wondering what your opinion on Heated Dog Bowls. My friend has one, I'm not sure if it is safe or not. I would like your opinions.

I cannot think of a single reason why a heated bowl would ever be necessary. Why does your friend use one?

Only reason I can think of to even consider a heated bowl is to stop the water freezing in it outdoors.

The reason why she is using it is because she leaves her dog outside for a while. The dog is in great condition has hay and everything. But can't the bowl possibly shock the dog? Can't it get too hot?

Re: Heated Bowls?
Hmmm..not sure I would be hapy leaving my dog unattended with one of these to be honest.
Re: Heated Bowls?
Honestly, to me this looks like a solution in search of a problem. I think you're right that your dog does not need this.
Re: Heated Bowls?
In that case, I'd be insulating a normal bowl such as by putting it in a cardboard or wooden box full of hay.
