Post by meggit »

when i cleaned up the garden after buddy today i noticed there was a lot of white/clearish slime in the poo and yesterday it was very loose not really runny is this anything to worry about , buddy is 4 nearly 5 months old and is fed a raw food diet (oh the joys of being a doggie mum talking about slime and gunge :) )

Oh yes, we have such delightful subject matter

Nothing to worry about if it happens once in a long while. Like us, they don't produce perfection every time.

First off, let the tummy run - it is getting rid of whatever has upset it - yes folks diarrhoea in moderation is healing :o

For an adult dog, don't feed anything for 24 hours.

For a pup, offer some plain bio yoghurt and either apple pear or pumpkin stirred in, raw or cooked, doesn't matter.

If the squits carry on past 2 days, or there is blood in it, or the puppy looks flat and lethargic, go and see the vet.

Good old home-made Ma's chickensoup (said as all in one word  ) made from a real chicken is always very settling.
