I got an ex rescue staffie a couple of months ago. Lovely little dog , full history unknown although the lady at kennels suspected he may have been dumped. For the first couple of weeks he would go for short walks with me , albeit slow ones( he's elderly so i obviously don't expect him to go for miles)
He hasn't got a deal of confidence either and now refuses to go any further than his own garden
I'm not unduly worried, as i say he's an old lad but he's missing out on some nice walks round here
Anyone got any thoughts please?

Can you take him somewhere in the car so he doesn't have to go down the path?
He's obviously feeling insecure, so a full health check might be prudent. Sight, hearing, teeth, prostate (very important) bloods for organ function, and so on.

A dog is never bad or naughty - it is simply being a dog
