Older dogs dealing with adolescent....HELP!

Post by schnauzman »

We have rescued a 15 month old male Great Dane that just wants to play with our 10 yr old male schnauzer, and avoids our female 12 yr old bearded collie (she wards him off). The two boys play well until Charlie (schnauzer) gets tired of it or wants to get in one of our laps. At that point, Percy (GD) becomes protective and wants to crawl all 115 lbs into our laps too. That sets Charlie off and he barks non-stop. OR Percy wants to play with us and that will set Charlie off into a barking spell OR Percy wants to play by himself with a toy or a towel/rug/etc...again setting Charlie into a non-stop barking spell. He won't stop barking until we can settle Percy down, causing Percy to not be able to play at all around Charlie. (Lindy (BC) doesn't care what Percy does as long as he doesn't step on her!).
HELP!!!!! IMOTD!!!!!

Hi, I'm not one of the experts, but will it be possible to post your question in the training section of the forum? - where you will get replies from experts.
Also, give as much detail you can for all the dogs, their daily routine, everything you can think of.
Thanx :D
