Re: Unpredictable aggression. I need expert serious help.
In the OP's first post, this struck me right off the bat: "I don't mind devoting the time and energy to this even if it may be pointless and I may get hurt but I only have a few more days to work with him . Due to certain circumstances, I can't keep him here much longer. What next??" I put...

Re: Puppies and raw bones

I have her on innova dry food and I supplement with veggies, fruits, and yogurt... - where - o - where would I be able to get these raw meaty type ...

Re: Stubborn walker
I have just one additional thought for you on this that is pretty simplistic. I also have a corgi (mine's a puppy) and Iive in the southeastern US where we have had endless days of at or above 90 degree weather. It didn't take long for me to discover that Piper hates the heat! As soon as the day hea...

Re: Pet store adoption fairs
A greyhound off the track that's cat safe? Hmm. I would be very skeptical. Being a sight hound and trained to run after scurrying things, I'd need proof before bringing him into my home with cats. But having said that, I adore greyhounds! You would think those poor souls off the tracks would be hard...

Re: Nearly a bad accident
It's wonderful to hear your dog is better today! I'm sure you're a lot better too knowing she's on the mend. :D I'd also love to hear more about Bach Rescue Remedy. Sounds like something that would be good for me to have on hand for "just in case". So any info on how to use it, when to use...

Oh gosh, I hear what you're saying Emmabeth. And how especially frustrating when you are right there to give great advice, but aren't being asked. Grrrr. . .

Oh Nettle, how awful for both of you! What a blessing to your dogs that you know just what to do in these situations. I'll be sending out good thoughts for you and your sweet dog.

Re: Escape!... Into the House?
I was thinking he's smelling something in the air that's spooking him. I used to live in the country where we had a few black bears wandering around the woods. Only once in the ten years we lived there did a bear come near our property, but when it did, my two dogs went nuts when they went outside t...

Re: Puppy house training
Once again thank you for your advice, Sorry if I've upset people about some of the things I've said, but I've only been following instructions i've found in books and other websites. Since I don't ever like to speak for others, I'll just tell you that you didn't upset me at all. You came here seeki...

Re: Puppy house training
Hi there. First, congrats on your new puppy!! I have a corgi puppy the same age as your husky, so I'm in the same place with the potty training/nipping biting stages. First, I think waiting an hour between potty breaks is too long. When I first brought Piper home, I was taking her out every 1/2 hour...

Re: Avoiding people with ball chuckers
I thing ball chuckers are actually very clever and useful. Like all things, it's about balance and common sense. When my brother-in-law broke his ankle, I bought him one so he could sit in a chair in his yard and still easily play ball with his labs. It was so much easier for him to pick up the ball...

Re: Poo eating!
Pineapple! One of the vets I used to work for swore by it. Give pineapple as a treat and it makes poo unpalatable. I did the pineapple with my last rescue dog that ate poo and it didn't work at all. I know some have had success with this, and that alone makes it worth a try, but unfortunately, it j...
