Yep it does. But oe should be aware that, if you intend to keep a ***** or dog entire until they mature, you CAN take preventative measures. You can keep your dog in an enclosed garden, train a reliable recall. You can take your dog to the vets for a 'morning after' injection. A dog mating a ***** d...

Ditto - reputable breeder or reputable shelter. Not all breeders are reputable, not all shelters/rescues are either. What should a reputable breeder do? Well, they should ask you a million and one questions about you, your life, your family. About your experiences with the breed and your expectation...

I believe there may also be a danger in feeding some dalmations oily fish. Not sure as i dont have a dally, but i know of someone who DID have a problem wtih her own dallies on another forum and that was part of the reason why.

Dogs digestive systems are built to process food much faster than ours, as they are a scavenger/predator, unlike us. This means they have stronger stomach acid and food spends less time in the gut meaning the chances of becoming ill from food that would have US puking for days are much reduced. Dogs...

Emmabeth, I can assure you that I am NOT shutting the dog out of my life under any circumstances. Several people in the world go out to work for 8hrs or more each day and nobody finds that unacceptable to leave their dogs alone, all our dog has to cope with is the fact that there is an open door be...

Shes still new to you and probably a little insecure. Id leave pushing her to go in your garden for now (trust me, in a year you will be asking for remedys for brown patches on the grass and wondering where your lawn went!)..... Instead, when you go for a walk, reward her REALLY well for goign to th...

Wicked  keep doing it, and more importantly, if you have to go out and you DONT have time, DONT take him and allow him to pull - just teaches him to try harder next time. Do some of the other training stuff too, will keep his mind active and bond with you much better - ive seen some AMAZING cha...

Yep, if the biggest treat is carying on the walk, then stop..... wait till he returns to your side, click and move on. The behaviour you want to click is him keeping that lead slack - click any slackness in the lead at all at first, stop dead if he tightens it. When he realises that tight lead = no ...

Ah, fairynuff, ill give it a watch later... The thing with the breast cancer stats is they arent quite as good as you think. The study showing the 98% reduction is qutie flawed adn was done on a RIDICULOUSLY small study group of i believe around 60 dogs which is no where NEAR enough for a reliable r...

Hmm. You have a working dog there - what 'work' does he do every day? He sounds like a very VERY stressed out dog, he has to deal with things alone for a lot of the day shut outside which i see you have attempted to sort out but have you really? Or has he learned that being quiet is more rewarding b...

Havent watched - cant stand Cesar Milan for a start.... Try reading this http://www.caninesports.com/EarlySpayConsiderations.pdf Note where it says that only 30% of mammary cancers are malignant, and if you check your dog frequently and have asked what to look for they can be removed (in an op that ...

You DO have your hands full there.... two pups at once (i hope they arent both bitches). Vigilance is the key, and im assuming you ahve had them a week or so, thats not long at all. Dont use paper, your aim is to never let them go in the house at all, using paper confuses that aim. Watch them consta...

Mmm. Did the vet really say cancer. Or did they say 'mammary tumours'. Tumours are just growths, they may or may not be cancerous - prepubertal spaying may lessen the risk of a ***** developing mammary tumours. However, prepubertal spaying may increase the risk of urinary incontinence, urinary infec...
