Dog losing weight in winter?!
Hi there, I was just curious as to why my puppy would be losing weight during the winter? I have read about dogs gaining weight due to lack of exercise, however my dog still runs outside in the snow and in our apartment (he's a small dog so space isn't a problem for him). He free feeds, as he has ne...

Re: Puppy and Exercise
Hey Everyone, So I am back with another question regarding my puppy's exercise as I was on google researching. I have a toy australian shepherd, and because he is considered a working dog every site I read says that he needs at least 2-3 hrs of exercise a day... this is for a full grown dog, correct...

Re: Puppy and Exercise
Oh okay I will have to put them in photobucket.
You mentioned clicker training, I bought the clicker, but haven't used it. I wasn't exactly sure how to, I don't want to "click" at the wrong time. IS there a section somewhere on here explaining this method?

Re: Crate Barking!
I had the same problem with my puppy, he still whines sometimes, but for the most part he enjoys the crate. I tried everything crating him the bedroom with us (which meant if we woke up in the middle of the night, so did he) Crating him in the hallway, crating him in another bedroom, etc. but he alw...

Re: How to toilet train your puppy or adult dog.
Thanks everyone. Mattie I appreciate your input. Like I said I always stay outside with him, it was my husband who walked in and watched from inside, but I will get him back to staying out there with him. I have no problem staying out there one because I want to know he has gone and if he didnt roug...

Re: Puppy and Exercise
Thanks for your input. I was hoping that this was normal for puppies. Mattie he is a toy australian shepherd, so from what I have heard they are working dogs. However he loves to cuddle for hours. :D I am going to take your advice and take him around with me into a carrier, then once he gets this ne...

Puppy and Exercise
Hi Everyone, I just had a few questions regarding my puppy and exercise. My puppy is 15 weeks old and although I take him out and try and play with him in the yard, many times he does not want to play outside. I live in the south so during the day it is way too hot for him, so I take him out in the ...

Re: How to toilet train your puppy or adult dog.
Yes, when I have caught him in the act I have yelled "No," showed him and then immediately took him outside to finish, which 9 times out of 10 he will... I do not scold him though if I do not catch him. It is rare that he does potty in the house so there haven't been many times where I hav...

Re: How to toilet train your puppy or adult dog.
Hi Mattie this post really helped! I do have one question though. My 15 week old puppy is starting to regress a little bit. We have had him almost 3 weeks and he had been doing well with minor accidents. The past couple of days he is crying and barking uncontrollably at night in his crate and when I...

Re: HELP my puppy barely eats!
Hey everyone, just wanted to give you a quick update! I decided to change over my puppy's food to Blue Buffalo small breed puppy chicken and oatmeal and he loves it! I tested it out and put a few pieces in my hand to see if he would like it and he gobbled it right up! So I am going to start the tran...

Re: HELP my puppy barely eats!
Thank you all so much for your input. We do give him training treats he loves these little biscuits, I break them in half so that I can get more training in without him getting too full. I do plan to switch him to a 3 x a day eating plan once my husband gets back from a work trip to see how that goe...

HELP my puppy barely eats!
Hi everyone I am having an issue with my puppy eating very little. I could be overreacting as this is my first puppy, but he appears to not be eating as much as he should. He is a toy australian shepherd who is 14 wks old. The bags says that he should be eating 1/4c of food 2x daily, however the vet...
