I think a fox on a stick is too big for my chihuahuas, but they love chasing squirrels. Has anyone made Squirrel on a Stick yet? This sounds like some kind of country dish. Yum.

I'll look. Chihuahuas are little dogs, but with 4 of them, that's more food than usual. Altogether, they eat 2 cups of food a day. I wonder how many cups are in 5 pounds. I was never good at math.

Here's a simple recipe for dog biscuits. 2 cups whole wheat flour 1 tablespoon baking powder 1 cup peanut butter (chunky or smooth) 1 cup milk First mix the dry ingredients (baking powder and flour) together, then mix the peanut butter and milk. Pour the dry ingredients into the wet ones. Roll to 1...

I'm like lots of other people. My dogs eat mostly dry food. Is Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lover's Soul a good-quality brand? The breeder I got 3 of the 4 chi's from says they need higher calorie food.

Okay, and where can I find that? The nearest pet store to me is a Pet Depot and a smaller store. There's no Petsmart anywhere that I can find.

Well, we must be making progress because she looks at me when I say Cocoa, and sometimes, she comes. She's finally learned her new name. I think she was called 'Sissy' along with several other dogs when she lived at the breeder's.

I am so confused. What should I feed my chihuahuas? They like variety, but Mom doesn't want them eating anything but dry with an occasional human food snack. What's a high-quality, hopefully meat-based, food for fussy small-eaters?

Hi, I'm Kristen. I'm 28 and live in the US. I have 4 chihuahuas, which more-or-less have control of the house: Chessie the fawn short-hair, Merle the wolf sable short-hair, Nova the red and white long-hair and Cocoa the chocolate short-hair. I also have 3 handfed lovebirds, raised by me: Eek the pea...

I agree with Leigha. I've been through the fish oil before. I used to breed lovebirds, and they lived outdoors. During the winter, they got fish oil drizzled on their food for added calories. Man, did it ever stink! May have to try for the dogs, though. I can stand it...maybe....if it's worth it.

I've got four dogs, but only one has a decent quality photo. I blame me and shoddy *free* digital cameras. Hope this image isn't too big. Anyway, this is Merle. She's a full-blooded chihuahua, but thanks to her striped nose, black-and-pink, her ears never stood up. Her coloration is called wolf sabl...

The foods at Wal-mart are not that great. You can try Innova or Canidae or Royal Canin. They might be a bit pricey but from what I've heard they are great food for your dog. I have weird dogs, apparently. I've tried Innova, Canidae, CSFTDLS and other good-quality brands. All my chi's want is Alpo C...

Uh, this seems to be a open don't-like-canola, do-like-canola. I give my 4 chihuahuas a serving *1 TBSP* at least once a week. Nothing seems to be wrong with them. Should I stop that, anyway?

3-year-old ex-breeder chihuahua lacks confidence

Hello, I'm new. I've watched 'IMOTD' quite a bit. I'm interested in different training methods for my dogs. Here's my story. Sorry, it's kinda long: My mom's friend breeds chihuahuas, but one of her dogs never got big enough to breed. Rather than send her to a shelter, she gave her to us. Prior to l...
