Re: What are you looking forward to in 2018?

They do look like amazing dogs, and whilst I LOVE Spitz's (they are up for anything!) the thing holding us back from just going for the JS is that I can forsee them setting each other off. Alot. Whilst they would be living in utter bliss barking at the world, in the city that might be an issue... Th...

Re: What are you looking forward to in 2018?

Yes it is them. I've been following her blog for over a year. She is trying to bring health back into the Cavalier breed by crossing them out with poodles and brittany spaniels. She is hoping to create dogs with the Cavalier temperament, but with clear MRI's for SM, longer snouts (like they used to ...

Re: Almost 7 month old Pup

We weren't making headway for a long time, I think Merlin's two little additions were getting in the way a bit. Since being neutered he's making dramatic progress. I think removing them reminded him I exist. He is smart so he's quick to learn, I just need to make sure I make it worth his while to le...

Re: What are you looking forward to in 2018?

I'm always up for fantasy / sci fi films. I have to admit, though, I didn't like Civil War. I think what I'm looking forward to is getting another puppy. We're 80% decided we want one since Merlin is showing no signs of wanting a cuddle any time soon, and we're hoping to possibly go on a wait...

Re: Almost 7 month old Pup

Well I shortened up his lead, kept throwing food around and marked whenever he looked back at me and... NO BARKING! He even saw some of his usual triggers - people doing things with things. I'm not counting my chickens yet because I did forget to give him his painkillers before setting out so his le...

Re: What are you and your dogs up to today? Part 2

Seems that small dogs get stepped on a lot.... I always thought it must be difficult to be a small dog among all these huge humans. Being stepped on doesn’t make it any easier :? They have a habbit of getting under your feet and if you're not looking down you can miss them! Merlin also got stepped ...

Re: Almost 7 month old Pup

Thanks Nettle! He definately sees me as.an annoying anchor when he is on his way to the park. He is amazing at loose lead walking on the way home amd when he doesnt know where we are going, but if he assumes we are going to a destination he likes he will pull me all the way. I gave up on trying to h...

He is BEAUTIFUL! I can see why you couldn't let him go.

Can I ask how you got into fostering and who with? I have been contemplating it myself.

Please do, I would love to know how she got on. I've been looking around myself and I've seen some who are close to the 18kg weight, so I know they are out there!

Re: Almost 7 month old Pup

@Judy I probably am making it worse now I can see myself on video. I used to try and just be quiet but somewhere along the line acceptance kicked in and I started to just roll with it, it saved me blushing. I'll go back to being low energy and quiet. About turning in the opposite direction from the ...

Re: What are you and your dogs up to today? Part 2

Nothing like the pain game to get a terrier excited! A day with Merlin is definately never boring I must admit. He's a thief, he likes to roll in deceased animals, he thinks that barking at squirrels will make them fall out of trees, and often he still believes he can fly when he's chasing birds. I ...

Re: Almost 7 month old Pup

Ok so we've been working really, really hard on his reacitivity and he won't react 90% of the time to dogs, but there is a small hurdle we are struggling to get past. Every morning when we go out for his walk, he's really excited. He walks down the street barking at anything and everything, and some...

Re: Ready made raw feeds

Day four - Merlin pushes the Lamb aside to get to the dry food. I think he just likes dry. I have a sample pack of wolfworthy coming to see if that firms him up, and we're trying out Eukanuba right now. So far his poos are improving. I might dehydrate some fish in our new dehydrator for healthy home...
