Re: Just wanted to warn other members.

Next time, try going back a page - you can often get back to what you've just typed and copied it from there. Also, when you log in, there should be something like 'Keep me logged on' - if you tick that you shouldn't get logged out, though it can happen.

There's been so much discussion on GSDs on the forum available through the search facility. I suggest you have a read through these threads: https://positively.com/forum/search.php?keywords=gsd

Re: What are you and your dogs up to today? Part 2

I don't know how his timing is because he isn't using the clicker as a marker or anything  I interpreted it as 'You haven't eaten me at any point in the last 5 minutes  I think he may also have used the clicker to get their attention at the start too - could be wrong though as I was conce...

Re: How much does she need?

According to this website http://www.dalmatianwelfare.co.uk/living-with/exercise/ ' At least an hour of exercise, once or preferably twice a day should be a minimum for an adult Dalmatian. Some of that time should be spent off the lead, free running.' According to the PDSA, they need 'over two hours...

Re: What are you and your dogs up to today? Part 2

That's brilliant, Nettle, thank you :D Jasper was very on edge this morning. The reason? His mince was a bit too on the livery side. He ate it, but he kept giving OH dirty looks, and ate the veg first. He didn't turn nasty, but when OH stood up he did jump up on him and grab his arm. I can understan...

Re: Ready made raw feeds

It's frustrating, isn't it? Here's another kibble that's worth a look: https://bentleysdogfood.co.uk/ BTW, when you try new foods, are you changing him over gradually? Not that it's relevant when you're just trying to find something he likes, but changing over too fast will affect the 'output' - I t...

Re: What are you and your dogs up to today? Part 2

Talk of EmmaBeth's Charley Weasel and saluki recall has reminded me... my friend has had her rescue terrier foster (she swears he's not staying...) for a couple of weeks now and the other day she said he was a little s*** because he didn't come back when he called (she's lovely really, and is very k...

Re: Ready made raw feeds

When you say his poos are softer than you like, how soft are they? Can you pick them up easily enough, or are they more splats? I just wonder whether they could be 'normal for him'. I've never managed to perfect Jasper's poos, but I've settled for 'good enough'. I can't remember - have you tried sli...

Re: Introducing... Charley-Weasels!

How's recall training going? I long for a saluki, but worry I'll be frustrated by their habit of recalling to 6' away from you and then doing that saluki dance to stop you getting them on lead

That's got to be a question for your vet, I think (unless anyone has direct experience). I can imagine it could go horribly wrong.

Re: Cruciate Ligament Damage and Hydro Exercise

That's such a shame. Did you take him in on a harness? I was wondering if he went in wearing a harness you could easily hold on to, then you could walk him around in that until he calms down again afterwards. Would it be worth having a couple of sessions at a hydro pool, to get him used to it and ma...

Re: What are you and your dogs up to today? Part 2

He was handed over as his owners have got divorced and they couldn't agree on who should have him as they both wanted him but without having to see each other so they thought the kindest thing to do was to re-home him. How on earth can removing him from both the people he lived with be the kindest ...

Re: What are you and your dogs up to today? Part 2

Looks like my dog toy library might never leave the ground... Insurance is the problem, I'd need a 'bespoke' package because it's unique (to my knowledge), and bespoke costs. Ionically, I need much less cover than standard packages which would actually be cheaper. The insurance could easily cost mor...
